Two weeks ago one of our members, Becky Howard, wrote a post about Conferences. You can read it here. This past month we had several staff members attend two different conferences.
The first conference was Real World PR 2011 and took place on Friday, February 18 in Atlanta. The three members that attended this conference were Shanna Crouse, Carmen Hipp and Ashley Funderburk. The conference allowed students to pick between different sessions to attend. Each session focused on a different topic or type of public relations. Here is what firm director Ashley Funderburk had to say:
“This was the second year I attended Real World PR and it was just as great this year as last. My favorite part about this conference is how students have many opportunities throughout the day to network with other students and PR professionals. I also love the career expo! It offers an awesome chance to meet pros from different firms and companies around Atlanta, which is where I plan to move when I graduate.” -Ashley Funderburk
The second conference was Social Fresh: Tampa, which took place Monday, February 21 and Tuesday, February 22. The three members that were able to attend this conference were Mary Finley, Lauren Gray and Steve Sutton. This conference was focused on social media and included demonstrations of new tools, case studies and more. Here is what staff member Mary Finley had to say:
“Attending Social Fresh: Tampa helped me put social media into perspective and use all facets to their full potential! I definitely recommend a Social Fresh event or any other conference directed towards social media. There are so many different experts that every session is a great learning tool.” -Mary Finley
